Early Childhood Development Centers

In 2006, at the request of community leaders, an Early Childhood Development Center was established at Dwaleni. In 2011 MTN Swaziland agreed to partner with SHBC in upgrading the Hand-in-Hand preschool, and from then onwards they recommitted themselves anually to support the school, based on the positive results obtained in the preschool. Susan Prins is a qualified Ground Phase teacher with many years of experience as a preschool teacher; now serving as the Preschool Manager and as well as teaching the final-year preschool class. A total of 32 children attend the preschool.

Three other trained teachers are also employed at the preschool:

Nonhlanhla Ndlangamandla (3 - 4 year olds)

Gcinaphi Dlamini (4 - 5 year olds)

Thobile Hlatjwako (Grade R)

During 2016 Ngwane Teacher’s Training College identified the SHBC Hand-in-Hand Preschool as a suitable site for practical training of Early Childhood Development students.

Three other Early Childhood Development Centers were later established:

Hlushwana (20 children)

Big Bend (126 children)
