In 2006, at the request of community leaders, an Early Childhood Development Center was established at Dwaleni. In 2011 MTN Swaziland agreed to partner with SHBC in upgrading the Hand-in-Hand preschool, and from then onwards they recommitted themselves anually to support the school, based on the positive results obtained in the preschool. Susan Prins is a qualified Ground Phase teacher with many years of experience as a preschool teacher; now serving as the Preschool Manager and as well as teaching the final-year preschool class. A total of 32 children attend the preschool.
Three other trained teachers are also employed at the preschool:
Nonhlanhla Ndlangamandla (3 - 4 year olds)
Gcinaphi Dlamini (4 - 5 year olds)
Thobile Hlatjwako (Grade R)
During 2016 Ngwane Teacher’s Training College identified the SHBC Hand-in-Hand Preschool as a suitable site for practical training of Early Childhood Development students.
Three other Early Childhood Development Centers were later established:
Hlushwana (20 children)
Big Bend (126 children)
Ndzevane (40 children)
